Pvt. William Stewart Fain was born in Murchison on December 10, 1888, the son of Dr. William Harris Fain and Eugenia Evalyn Darden Fain.
Pvt. Fain served in Base Hospital 107, which deployed to Mars-sur-Allier, France from November, 1918 through June, 1919.
After the war, Mr. Fain worked for Texaco. He retired as a carpenter, and passed away in Olney on October 14, 1967. He is interred in Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. He was survived by Mrs. Jessie Alford Fain.
