Pfc. Joseph Ervin Smith, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Smith, husband of Agnes Alexander, attended Groesbeck High. Entered Army in 1942, trained at Ft. Warren, Wyo. Served in Africa and Europe. Awarded Victory Medal, ETO Ribbon with 1 Battle Star and Middle East Ribbon. Discharged in 1945.
