Pfc. Kenneth J. Whiteley, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Whiteley, Newcastle, husband of Anna Lou West, attended Newcastle School. Entered Army in 1942, trained at Ft. Russel, Texas. Served in N. Afria, and Italy. Awarded Purple Heart, 3 battle stars, GCM, Criox De Guerre from French Army, Legion of Merit, and AP Ribbon. Wounded in Italy in 1944. Discharged in 1945.
