Virgil Henry Gathings, son o f Mrs. W. H. Gathings, Commanche, husband of Dorothy Calhoun, attened Olney High. Entered Army, 1944, trained at Camp Wolters, Texas. Served in N. Guinea, Luzon and Japan. Awarded GCM, PL, APO, 2 Battle Stars and Combat Inf. Badge. Discharged in 1945.
